The Klever Birne enters the next round
The Klever Birne sustainability prize will be awarded again this year. The city of Kleve and Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences are once again looking for creative solutions from people in the region to make Kleve more sustainable. The application phase starts on 01 May 2024.
Do you have the cleverest idea?
The more effective, realistic and innovative, the better! Ideas that make a special contribution to sustainable development will be honoured. Sustainability refers to social, ecological and economic aspects. The ideas submitted should therefore deal with at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and be suitable for implementation in Kleve. Citizens, private groups, students, educational organisations, public institutions (schools, kindergartens, libraries, etc.), companies, associations, start-ups and institutions can take part in the ideas competition.
Prize money and personalised coaching for your idea!
The top 3 winners of the competition will not only receive prize money (1st place €2,000, 2nd place €1,500, 3rd place €1,000), but also individual coaching to help them realise their idea. A student prize and an audience prize will also be awarded.
The application phase starts on 1 May 2024 and runs up to and including 30 June 2024. You can find all further information about the Klever Birne here.

Last year, innovative projects such as the mobile climate café, the sustainable market hall in the former Margarine Union, the community garden at SOS-Klapheckenhof and the ‘Sustainable education in the field’ school project at Rindern primary school were honoured.
