Green Walls for Kleve
How many pots of houseplants are there in your workplace? In many offices, small potted plants on windowsills, desks and shelves beautify the working environment. Sonika Kaur, a student at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW), has the idea of replacing the potpourri of pots and plants with large green walls and vertical planting systems, as they can cover larger indoor areas and thus better showcase their benefits.
The benefits? Improved air quality, lower stress levels and a calm and engaging environment that promotes productivity.
First implementation at HSRW
Her application for the Kleve Pear included several sketches with ideas for greening the HSRW’s Kleve campus. For example, the Welcome Center is to be equipped with a green wall. The actual Help Desk is also to be greened with a planted counter top.
