Award ceremony for the Klever Birne on 12 September 2024

On 12 September 2024, the city of Kleve and Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW) invite you to the official award ceremony of the ‘Klever Birne 2024’ sustainability award.

The sustainability award, awarded by the city of Kleve and our TransRegINT project at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, honours creative ideas that aim to make Kleve more sustainable and liveable. Sustainability is more than just climate and environmental protection. This year, concepts for sustainable communities, sustainable mobility and sustainable use of resources were among the ideas put forward for the competition. We present all the finalists in detail in our news.

The ten best ideas that made it to the final will be presented to the public at trade fair stands. The finalists will present their ideas in a three-minute pitch to an expert jury and the audience. This year’s jury is made up of the mayor of the city of Kleve, the president of HSRW, a representative of Fridays4Future Kleve, an education officer from Wasserburg Rindern and a representative of the Kleve district’s climate protection working group.

The event will end with a ceremony to honour the winners, where the three best ideas will be awarded the ‘Klever Birne’ sustainability award. The audience award and a special award for the best student idea will also be presented. Visitors can vote for their favourite for the audience award during the event using a QR code.

In addition to the presentations, the event offers numerous opportunities for networking and dialogue – a must for anyone interested in sustainability, innovation and the future of our region.
