Collaboration with the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences opens up many opportunities for you: from fresh ideas and creative input to access to young talent and joint research and development projects. This results in innovative solutions for current challenges and sustainable products for the future. We support you in finding the right format, bring you together with suitable partners from the university and help you to close knowledge and technology gaps in a targeted manner.

Regardless of whether you only want to invest a little time or tackle a specific problem in the long term –
there is a suitable cooperation format for every goal and every resource situation.

Discover and network

Building a network and exchanging knowledge

We want to share our knowledge and promote exchange. That’s why we regularly organize events on forward-looking and regionally relevant topics. Make valuable contacts and gain new perspectives.

Get to know and support students

Get to know our students, e.g. at career and networking events, during company visits or as a guest lecturer in a lecture. The Deutschlandstipendium scholarship gives you the opportunity to provide targeted support for talented students.

Initiate new topics: Practice meets science

Do you have a topic that moves your industry? An idea that you would like to explore in greater depth together with experts and talents? Bring in your topic suggestions and let’s organize events together.

Finding and retaining talent

Innovation sprints & hackathons
Short, intensive, creative: a compact format (4-48 hours) in which students work with companies on specific challenges under the guidance of coaches and experts – ideal for quickly developing creative solutions and gaining new perspectives.

Student projects
Creative collaboration with in-depth analysis: A semester-long format (Oct.-Jan. or Apr.-July) in which student teams (5-15 people) work on real issues from the business world. Accompanied by professors, students devote themselves intensively to a topic. Ideal for experimental approaches.

Internships and work-study programs
Involving students in practice: The internship semester allows students to work full-time for at least 20 weeks. Working students can start at any time. This provides valuable impetus and early networking with potential specialists.

Final theses
Focused research with high relevance: students develop innovative solutions for entrepreneurial challenges in their final theses. They work on complex tasks under professorial supervision – ideal for strategic or confidential projects.

Research and development

Our research infrastructure with numerous laboratories enables us to implement innovation projects effectively and work closely together in all phases of research and development. Our cooperation offers include both services and contract research. Legal framework conditions such as the Research Allowances Act as well as public funding and foundations create incentives for joint projects.

Dialogpunkt wirtschaft

Happy about the start of the DialogPunkt Wirtschaft: (from left to right) Andrea Wälbers (SEG Kalkar mbH), Dr. Bruno Ketteler (SEG Kalkar mbH), Robert Beinio (bb med. product GmbH), Benedikt Koenen (Gemeinde Uedem), Sandra Kimm-Hamacher (Stadt Rees), Dr. Gerhard Heusipp (HSRW), Prof. Dr. Oliver Locker-Grütjen (HSRW), Andre Brüggemann (SEG Kalkar mbH), Dr. Britta Schulz (Stadt Kalkar) and Constanze Brinkmann (GGK).

The DialogPunkt Wirtschaft in the Kalkar Trade and Start-up Centre aims to bring companies in the region and our university even closer together. The first step has been taken with the signing of the co-operation agreement by Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW) and Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft Kalkar mbH (SEG Kalkar mbH). Next, key challenges and opportunities for the regional economy will be identified in project phases. This will result in a tailor-made programme with formats such as consultation hours, expert impulses and practical research. Read More
