DialogPunkte

DialogPunkte are a series of events that take place in different cities in the Lower Rhine region. The common theme: sustainability! We bring knowledge from the university—whether on biodiversity, car sharing, or sustainable agriculture—and offer opportunities for networking. We work closely with local authorities, institutions, and associations to tailor the program to each city. The first DialogPunkt took place in Kleve in 2024, followed by DialogPunkt Xanten in 2025.
DialogPunkte 2026
This year, the DialogPunkte events are taking place in Kalkar and Kevelaer for the first time. There you will find answers to exciting questions: How can I generate my own electricity on my balcony? How can I design my garden to be more natural? And what does sustainable agriculture look like?
All events will be held in German language. Further information can be found → here on the German page

That was the DialogPunkt Xanten
From February to September 2025, DialogPunkt Xanten opened the doors of the historic Weberturm tower on the first Tuesday of every month. Located in the middle of Xanten’s city walls, it became a lively place for exchange and inspiration around sustainability in the Lower Rhine region.
The events covered a wide range of topics. The series began with ideas on sustainable construction and the connection between monument preservation and climate protection. This was followed by practical offerings such as the workshop ‘Electricity from my balcony’ on building your own mini photovoltaic systems.
In early summer, the focus was on nature and nutrition: a herb and dyeing workshop and the presentation and tasting of regional agroforestry products enriched the programme. The series concluded in September with an ‘After-work market: Xanten is so sustainable’, where Xanten initiatives, associations and committed citizens presented their sustainable projects and products.
That was the DialogPunkt Kleve
The activities at DialogPunkt Kleve focused on the three aspects of ‘Sustainable Community’, ‘Sustainable Nutrition’ and ‘Sustainable Mobility’. A themed week was dedicated to each focus, which offered a variety of events. With workshops, lectures, joint tours and consultation hours, there was something for everyone. The aim was to inform, inspire and encourage action. On Wednesdays to Fridays, the doors were also open for a free exchange of ideas.
If you browse through our news, you will find a follow-up report on each event. You can find our summary of the entire DialoguePoint Kleve here: ‘Between restraint and interest – DialogPunkt Kleve in retrospect’.
