It was a joyful moment for the entire Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW) when it was announced in 2022 that our TransRegINT transformation project, based at ZFIT, would receive funding of almost ten million euros over five years. The project was able to start on 1 March 2023 as part of the ‘Innovative University’ programme of the then Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In July – halfway through the project – the entire TransRegINT team met to celebrate the halfway point. Over cool drinks and a barbecue buffet lovingly prepared by the team members, memories were shared, successes celebrated and future plans discussed – up to 2027 and beyond.
‘We are setting impulses that will continue to have an impact even after the project has ended. We cannot transform the region in five years, but we can initiate essential changes,’ said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Kisters, Vice President of HSRW for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer and our project manager, motivating the team to continue their work with the same dedication as before.
We would also like to celebrate Bergfest with colleagues and students from the university. The project management invites all HSRW employees and students to attend on 8 October from 13:00 to 17:00. With keynote speeches, hands-on activities and a small project fair, the individual sub-projects will present their current work status and look forward to a lively exchange. The programme also includes expert input from Fellows and Advisory Board members Prof. Dr Christa Liedtke, Prof. Dr Kora Kristof and Frank Wistuba, who will shed light on the topic of ‘From transfer to transformation’ from a scientific perspective. Further information will follow shortly.
